October 28, 2020

On Sunday, October 25, 2020, the residents and staff had a wonderful surprise awaiting them. A parade of approximately 40 vehicles to include Police, Fire, Rescue, a motorcycle, classic cars and trucks arrived at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home to honor the veterans. Secretary George W. Owings, Jr., Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs, stood in the back of a pickup truck, in the rain, saluting to all of the residents as they parade route took them around the entire facility. The Commissioners Office of Leonardtown coordinated the parade with leadership at Charlotte Hall Veterans Home. The residents truly enjoyed the show of support and seeing so many participants from the community out on such a rainy day!
