Words from a nurse who recently left Charlotte Hall Veterans Home:

"Well it's here... my last day at the Veterans Home. I can not explain how I am feeling because for the first time I have loved my job. I love my coworkers and my residents. It breaks my heart to know I can't see my residents anymore. I have grown so much as a caregiver and a person here at CHVH. I have met great people who would do anything for our vets and that's how it should be. I've had days where I just want to cry because of various reasons, but many days I walked out of work with my heart full of love and laughter.
So tonight when I clock out of work I will know that I have done everything I can for my loves. I walk out with a heavy heart but a heart full of love. Hearing my residents and coworkers tell me over the last two weeks that they will miss me and that I have been a great caregiver assures me that I have done what I set out to do and to make sure these Veterans have someone to love them and knows that they can always look forward to seeing me. Thank you Charlotte Hall Veterans Home for allowing me to come in and love and care for our veterans. God Bless you all."
