Yesterday our resident Mr. Vernon Hare who was born on March 4, celebrated his 100th Birthday!
President Randy Guy with the St. Mary’s County Commissioners was there to give a proclamation from the Commissioners. Governor Hogan’s office sent a proclamation as well and former Senator Roy Dyson was there to present. Several generations of his family were present, his fellow residents, and staff were present to celebrate the day with him. The room filled with celebration and love for Mr. Hare and his accomplishment.
Mr. Hare served in the Army and stationed in Germany during World War II. Appointed to Corporal, Service Company, Third Infantry on the July 21, 1942. He received an Honorable Discharge on October 16, 1945.
